Holistic Haven

Welcome to my website, My name is Michelle Davies and I am a quailified City and Guilds Holistic therapist. I am a member of the Complementary Therapists Association and hold full public liabilty insurance. By accessing this page, I believe that you too understand the benefits and effectiveness of complementary therapy. Complementary medicine is no longer seen as an indulgent pastime and can be used in conjunction with many other treatments such as chiropractic, hypnotherapy, osteopathy, homeopathy and acupuncture.

The hectic pace and harsh expectations of our culture push our bodies to the limits at times. We must try and make a consious effort to reclaim our integrated being : body, mind and spirit. Stress is a part of everyday life and is not neccessarily a bad thing as long as it is used in a productive way. When stress becomes long term though, it can affect you emotionally, physically and psychologically. We must learn how to break free from the confines of a potentially damaging lifestyle and discover the way to increase vitality, reduce stress and tension, boost the immune system and induce deep relaxation. Holistic therapies work on all levels to restore homeostasis, which is the balance and maintenance of a constant in our internal bodies. Everyone can benefit, including the elderly, pregnant women and men.

When you arrive for your first treatment, you will be asked a number of questions from a consultation form. This is confidential and is important for me to assess your requirements and build a picture of your general health, diet and lifestyle. It will help for me to know if you are taking any medication, under doctor supervision or have any health concerns. Holistic therapies are safe at all times, but there may be certain conditions that may restrict treatment available to you. If you are undergoing any medical treatment or under hospital care, approval from your GP must be sought before treatment can commence.
